Ever wondered what it’s like to operate a Bombardier TR? Now you can find out with a new open-source train-simulator called TTC OpenBVE Yonge-University-Spadina V3 – I know, not the catchiest name ever. Currently in beta, and developed by production company T2PO Films, the simulator allows TTC enthusiasts to drive any of the commission’s currently in-operation trains along the Yonge and University line. The game is said to be complete with accurate signage and signals, though the most realistic feature, passenger created delays, has yet to be implemented.

The game’s graphics, to put it politely, suck, but, you know, ultra high-definition graphics would only serve to remind one of how dirty the TTC really is. Moreover, most will likely find the game to be terribly dull. But trains!

Those interested in trying out the simulator can do so by downloading it here – the game is free, but requires registration on the developer’s forum before being granted access. Otherwise, watch the video below to see the game in action.
